The First Five X-Men
The X-Men were founded by Professor Xavier. He set up a private school that was a haven from the general public who feared and hated mutants and any evil mutant with an extra power that wanted to hunt the X-Men for stopping their evil plans. This was to be called "Professor Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters." His first students, at this school, were called Scott Summers, Jean Grey, Warren Worthington The Third, Hank McCoy and Bobby Drake. They were trained by Professor Xavier to become a force to fight off the evil mutants and protect humanity to create a golden age between mutants and humans alike. He called his team the X-Men and to protect the identities of his students he gave them code names. Scott was called Cyclops, Jean was temporally Marvel Girl (and in time become the Phoenix), Warren became Angel, Hank was called Beast and finally the youngest, Bobby's codename was Iceman.
